I didn’t even know the long weekend was for 4 whole days until friends started inviting me to places out of town. I said thank you, but no; In true Angela fashion, I weighed out my priorities & decided to hole-up at home and treat myself to (among others) some literary “me time.”
My compulsive book hoarding has left me with books unfinished or completely unread. For today I chose a Fitzgerald classic, The Great Gatsby, which I got on sale some time ago.
Speaking of sales, upon learning of National Bookstore’s big one, I nearly flipped. I had my heart set on scoring 2 particular books —The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood, and The Fall by Albert Camus, but alas both were not in stock. I was, however, able to get these 2 for incredibly low prices (Php70 & Php50):
Dali and I: The Surreal Story by Stan Lauryssens and From Ostia to Alexandria with Flavia Gemina by Caroline Lawrence. Been a while since my last non-fiction so this should be good.
Have a great rest of the week,
